The role

As Airport Control Director for Manchester Airport, you will play a central role in delivering the operational success and resilience of Manchester Airport as we travel through an exciting period of transformation.

You will proactively oversee day to day operations for the airport, taking your teams on a journey aligned with our MAG values, vision & plans.

Stability & responsiveness is key, alongside driving strategic oversight of operational resilience and business continuity planning, using data-led insights.

Additionally, people leadership will be paramount to grow a culture of unity & high performance across your teams and leadership layers using clear KPIs and communication channels.

You will support career development for Airport Duty Managers alongside creating collaborative relationships across multiple stakeholders & partners, whilst leading education & coaching around lessons learnt, initiating change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in incident resolution.

What will make you successful in the role?

You will have demonstrable experience operating in a large scale operation, driving world class customer experience and operational performance.

You will be a natural leader of people, motivating teams to perform to the best of their abilities in high pressure environments.

Experience of working in a complex stakeholder environment is key, with an ability to influence at all levels internally & externally including ExCo, Airlines & Partners, government & regulatory bodies and emergency services.
