London, Greater London, United Kingdom COWI AS Full time

Do you want to be a part of a growing M&E team? Can you collaborate with colleagues across UK and International projects? Are you experienced in Mechanical Infrastructure Design? Then, this could be the next adventure in your career.

Create Solutions that will enable a better tomorrow

To further our mechanical capability on Infrastructure projects, we are looking for a Senior Public Health Engineer to join us.

Your primary task will involve designing and providing technical advice on Public health systems. This includes water supply systems, drainage systems, wastewater management, pumping and associated piping systems for infrastructure projects.

Your role will be focused on the design environment, which, while based in the UK, will involve interacting day-to-day with colleagues across our global hubs. There may also be opportunities to broaden your contribution to other areas within the MEP discipline as well as client-side or site-based roles in a variety of major infrastructure settings.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Preparing design concept schemes, design detail drawings, calculations, tender documents and reports related to PH systems
  • Preparing hydraulic calculations for plumbing, drainage & firefighting systems
  • Production of engineering design and detail in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
  • Preparing and coordination of the design work to drawings and 3D models
  • Perform interface coordination tasks with other disciplines
  • Writing technical reports and specifications

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.

The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners, or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.

On top of that, you'll have:

  • A degree in mechanical engineering or similar
  • Achieved Chartered Engineer status or possess a similar professional qualification
  • Relevant experience within mechanical systems design
  • Experience with hydraulic modelling, steady state and transient analysis calculations
  • The ability to provide technically sound solutions alone
  • A comprehensive technical understanding of the aforementioned PH systems
  • Exposure to other mechanical systems such as lifting systems, HVAC systems, fire protection and suppression systems would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge on pipe support and stress calculations
  • Experience with 3D modelling and BIM design

A place to work and so much more.
