For every seven adults in the UK, one will have tinnitus. Think about that the next time you're in the supermarket, on the bus, or walking down the street.

They provide free support to anyone with tinnitus or caring for someone with tinnitus, as well as leading the charge for more investment in the condition's research.

They're connecting the research community to people living with tinnitus to ensure those searching for new treatments and a cure understand the impact of tinnitus on everyday lives, and working with healthcare professionals to ensure people receive the right information to manage their tinnitus.

Tinnitus UK is currently the only tinnitus specific charity in the UK to provide services including telephone and online support, as well as regional support groups, conferences and other events – and they're looking for a new Head of Services to report directly to the Chief Executive and take on the responsibility of ensuring that these services continue to be of the highest standard.

This is a full-time, hybrid role working both remotely and from Tinnitus UK's offices in Sheffield twice per week

Services Strategy:

Strategic and operational oversight of all Tinnitus UK's services to the tinnitus community, optimising both digital and traditional models and ensuring relevance and quality.


Service User Involvement:

Continually analyse and understand the needs of people with tinnitus, care givers, regional co-ordinators, partners and other stakeholders, running focus groups and developing appropriate services to meet them.


Outreach Services:

Lead strategic development of Tinnitus UK's helpline and other outreach services, including an online chatbot and community groups, identifying gaps in tinnitus support service provision and working with colleagues to ensure they are filled.


Volunteering and Placements:

Work with relevant staff to develop the programme of internal and external volunteering opportunities designed to enhance service delivery and encourage growth of individual volunteers, coordinating placements as and when required.


Events:

Work with relevant staff to implement a programme of events (conferences, awareness events, training courses) to meet the needs of the tinnitus community, leading the innovation of events, using digital and other tools widen their availability make them more diverse.


Quality:

Lead Tinnitus UK's work to assess social impact and value, ensuring support services are founded on evidence-based research and that advice to people living with tinnitus remains accurate and appropriate in response to developments in the treatment of tinnitus.


Leadership:

Manage a team of 7, working as part of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure oversight of strategic and operational matters, leading the development and delivery of Tinnitus UK's annual operational business for Services and contributing to the overall charity's business plan.


Data & Finance:

Provide evidence, data and ideas to support the fundraising team to develop proposals to underpin Tinnitus UK services, exploring cost effective digital solutions that optimise our use of resources.

Tinnitus UK has teamed up with us at B-Radical to support them with this search, and we're looking for someone with previous experience working in a service delivery or management role – either within a non-profit/charity organisation or within the care/healthcare industry.
