Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching phonics to groups of children every morning, Monday to Friday
  • Developing lesson plans and activities to help children learn and practice phonics principles
  • Assessing students' progress regularly and providing feedback
  • Creating a positive learning environment and fostering an enthusiastic attitude towards phonics
  • Working closely with other teachers and staff to ensure effective learning
  • Keeping uptodate with developments in phonics teaching

As a Teaching Assistant working, your duties may include:

  • Assist the classroom teacher with lesson planning and preparation.
  • Lead small group or individual instruction as assigned by the teacher.
  • Provide additional support to students who need extra help.
  • Help supervise students in the classroom, playground, cafeteria, and other areas.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
  • Assist with record keeping and other administrative tasks.
  • Prepare teaching materials and classroom displays.
  • Assist with setting up and tidying up the classroom each day.
  • Supervise students on field trips and other schoolsponsored activities.
  • Provide individual attention to students who need extra help

The requirements for this role are:

  • GCSE English & Maths
  • Preferably qualified to an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification
  • Experience working with children
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with students, parents and staff
  • Possess strong organizational, communication and problemsolving skills
  • Understanding of classroom procedures and policies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
