Job Summary:

The Weighbridge Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Weighbridge facility, serving as the primary point of contact for all staff and contractors. Key Responsibilities:

  • Weigh in and out all vehicles, recording both weighs and ensuring there are no variances that are outside the tolerance.
  • Comply with all legislative requirements, company policies, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Ensure that all personnel entering site have been inducted using the rapid induct system.
  • Check that only authorized vehicles and people enter onto the site. Ensure that all vehicles that enter and exit site are logged.
  • Issue site rules to all drivers.
  • Ensure the XPO operating areas are compliant with hygiene standards as dictated by the Contract management team – Yard areas, loading areas, etc.
  • Ensure that appropriate paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all shipments are dispatched on SAP.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant company rules, agreements, policies, procedures, and with all relevant legislative requirements and codes of practice.
  • Ensure company business is treated in the strictest confidence and not disclosed to persons outside the company.
  • Act in a professional manner, ensure good working relationships are maintained, and promote a good image of the company at all times.
  • Maintain and comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, to be aware of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System, OHSAS18001, and to appreciate the responsibility you have to adhere to the respective procedures.
  • Be aware that the company operates a Quality Assurance system ISO 9001:2008 and adhere to the respective procedures.
  • Ensure a good standard of housekeeping through observance of relevant company policies and ensure that work areas are secure and locked when unoccupied.
  • Where appropriate, challenge and determine reasons for presence on site of any unauthorized person.
  • Attend any development training as required in compliance with the company's commitment to colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working in a logistics environment. Approximately 2 years.
  • Health & Safety Awareness
  • Experience of working with XPO Fleet Management systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good literacy and numeric skills
  • Internal/Logistics qualifications
  • Knowledge of relevant XPO systems
  • Able to write clear and detailed reports.
