BCHA are a diverse and growing specialist housing, learning and support provider based on the South Coast.

We provide support to our customers who may be facing a range of issues such as homelessness, domestic abuse, mental health and substance misuse.


BCHA provide temporary accommodation for families who find themselves homeless and in desperate need of a safe and secure place to live.

We work closely with Plymouth City Council and the Family Allocation team to provide a range of temporary accommodation including family houses, Bed & Breakfasts and holiday lets.


Position:


This post of
Family Support Worker plays a key role in achieving positive healthy outcomes for families moving from temporary accommodation into long-term sustainable housing, in either private rented or social housing.


The Family Support worker provides direct support and advice to families to reduce the length of time they are in emergency or temporary accommodation and to find a permanent home and move towards independent living.

Requirements:

- build and maintain effective working relationships with individuals & agencies;

- be proactive, empathic & non-judgemental;
- support families to maximise and sustain their income to pay their rent;
- be strengths based, and trauma informed in the way that you deliver support to customers;
