About the role:


We are looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic individual to be the key liaison between schools and Buxton and Leek College and to inform and advise students about the wide range of provision on offer at the college.

Please note that a full and clean driving license is a requirement for this role.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Prepare, coordinate and deliver high quality, innovative further education and higher education liaison and outreach activities in line with the aims of the Recruitment & Marketing strategy.
  • With the support of the Recruitment Officer, develop relationships with schools/careers staff, raising the profile of Buxton and Leek College in the community.
  • Facilitate, on campus and in school/college activity as required.
  • To support the recruitment of learners to our adult course offer
  • Support on the delivery of projects.
  • Contribute to the creation of exciting and innovative outreach and community engagement programmes and plans.
  • Contribute to the Buxton & Leek College marketing, employer engagement and communication strategy and plan.
  • Produce a range of high quality, innovative and creative materials and resources for outreach and widening access activities appropriate to target cohorts.
  • Be an outstanding, knowledgeable, and professional representative of the University at community events, UCAS events, exhibitions, school and college FE and HE fairs, visits and other relevant events, liaising appropriately with staff, students and parents in partner schools and colleges.
  • Provide uptodate information on Buxton & Leek College courses and progression opportunities to students wishing to progress to further education. Maintain full and detailed knowledge of all study opportunities, admission policies and student facilities within the College and the University.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to student ambassadors when requested to do so by a member of the Recruitment & Marketing team.
  • Support key Buxton & Leek College Open and Advice Day events and other marketing events.
  • Carry out duties in a safe and proper manner to comply with the University's Health & Safety Policy and Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • Undertake any other duties as appropriate to the grade of post.
  • To safeguard students in accordance with internally and externally set statutory guidance.

Qualifications:

  • A Levels or equivalent qualification.
  • A clean full Driving License.

Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering information in a creative and engaging way.
  • Demonstrable experience working with children age years old.

Qualifications:

  • An IAG qualification would be of benefit.

Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of working with groups of learners progressing to higher education or further education.
  • Demonstrable experience of evaluating data and feedback and appropriately revising activities and work practices.
  • Demonstrable experience of event management.

Skills, knowledge & abilities:

  • Up to date knowledge of current issues affecting progression to further education and higher education.
  • Up to date knowledge of HE student funding, recruitment, and qualifications.
