University College London Hospitals is seeking to appoint a substantive 10 session Consultant Haematologist with a special interest in Cellular Immunotherapy and another haematology -oncological subspecialty, and a commitment to high quality patient care.

This post will also be committed to developing the research portfolio and enhancing the national and international profile of the service.


Clinical work will be both outpatient-centred in the UCH Macmillan Cancer Centre and involve inpatient attending on a rotational basis.

Participation in regional and national meetings is required, with the aim of developing a national profile.

UCLH is expanding the role of Cellular Immuno therapy across disciplines, namely into solid tumours, rheumatology and neurology indications and the applicant will be expected to play a key role in the development and running of this service in close partnership with other stakeholders.


The potholder is expected to work to enhance the translational research opportunities within the field of cellular immunotherapy in conjunction with the UCL Cancer Institute and BRC.

The post holder will also be expected to play a postgraduate educational role. Active participation in MDTs, early and late phase trials and facilitating patient care with referring centres is expected.


The potholder will join the Cellular Immunotherapy service at UCLH working closely with the CAR-T service alongside Dr Claire Roddie, Dr Maeve O'Reilly and Dr Paul Maciocia.

There are 3 Cell Therapy clinical nurse specialists (CNS), 3 Lymphoma stem cell/CAR-T CNS and 10 ATIMP clinical trials nurse/practitioners.

There is currently one weekly Cellular Therapy clinic on Mondays. The post holder will be expected to participate in another haem-once clinic weekly.


The leukaemia and lymphoma MDT meetings are currently held at pm on Thursday, with specific Cell Therapy and allow-SCT sections.

BMT MDT also happens on Thursdays,


We have a large and expanding clinical trials programme, with both commercial and academic Phase I, Phase II and RCT Phase III studies.


We have a strong national profile with many of our team active members of the NCRN sub groups and leading on a range of research projects and trials.

We anticipate the the appointee will help to augment the profile of the department on the national and international stage.
