Preston, Lancashire, United Kingdom Day Webster Full time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for four Social Worker's to join our Adult Social Care Mental Health Service working across Lancashire who would be dual practitioners in mental health social work and substance misuse.

Adults and young people who have a severe mental illness and substance misuse are among the most vulnerable in our society.

They experience some of the worst health, wellbeing, and social outcomes (relationship between dual diagnosis:
substance misuse and dealingwith mental health issues SCIE).

This is an area we need to have a more proactive approach and reduce the 'handoffs' between services and professionals.

The social care needs are complex and require good social work interventions.
The interplay between substance misuse and mental illness is complex and can change over time. It can vary between people, and it requires a personalised approach.

Social workers are key professionals in supporting personalise care and support depends on theindividual and how the mental health impacts on their lives.

Dual diagnosis social workers can provide this approach and not just a medical approach. They support the Human rights of the individuals and consider the mental capacity of the person.

As part of this team you will complete social care assessments, support plans and reviews designed to support the delivery of a coordinated response to individual's needs.

The team works in partnership with all internal and external professionals involved inassessment and service provision, e.g., Health, police, housing etc.

including Court work when required.

You will need to be someone who can provide professional supervision and oversight to members of the team as well as contribute to the provision of high-quality assessments, reviews and support plans for individuals.

This role is based on a 5-day working pattern, Monday-Friday. 8.45am-5pm.

We will offer you good team support, regular supervision, opportunities to build on existing skills and knowledge with a bespoke training offer for this post, great staff benefits, generous annual leave entitlements and the opportunity to flourish as part ofan exciting, well-established team that is looking to bring real benefits to a key part of Lancashire County Council's Adult Social Care Service.

You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use.

However, we may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability.
*Please ensure you have uploaded and attached your CV to evidence how you meet the criteria for the role. The panel may be unable to shortlist you for interview without this evidence.

Social Work applicants must be registered with Social Work England (SWE) to be appointed as a Social Worker or have applied to register with SWE.

This post is a COVID-19 critical post.
