Job description

Support Worker for Children in Residential Care - Preston, Lancashire

ARE YOU READY TO KICK START YOUR CAREER WITHIN THE CHILDREN'S SECTOR?

LOOKING FOR A FLEXIBLE ROLE THAT WORKS AROUND YOUR CURRENT LIFESTYLE AND RESPONSABILITIES?
We are looking for dedicated, reliable, and empathetic Support Workers (experienced or non-experienced).

The role will involve you to attend children's residential homes, the children in care may have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, exploitation etc.

Therefore, it will require someone to be confident, patient, and strong minded to work alongside the vulnerable young people.

We like to describe the role as a 'professional family', the homes will be set up like a normal household, they will need support in education, prompting personal care, taking to appointments, teaching life skills, cooking, and cleaning etc.

The role is incredibly rewarding and very important to the young people's growth, but due to the traumas they may have faced this could reflect on their behaviours

For example:
Challenging behaviours, attachment disorders, emotional behavioural difficulties. Also, in some cases the children may have learning difficulties, autism, and ADHD.

If you are nurturing, supportive, interactive and can provide children between the ages of with high levels of care and support ensuring their safety and well-being are met at all times then we would be very interested in having you on our team.
