Retail Sales Assistant, Museum, West London, 2-weeks Christmas holiday cover, £11.95 p/h plus holiday pay.

Our client a world-renowned Museum based in West London requires a Retail Sales Assistant. This a 2-week full time Christmas cover assignment.

The dates are likely to be Mon 19 to Fri 23 Dec, Tues 27 to Thurs 29 and Sun 01 & Mon 02 Jan.

You'll need to beavailable for the whole period.

The main duties of the Retail Sales Assistant role are:

  • Welcome and positively engage every visitor to the museum
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards across the shop
  • Help exceed all retail sales targets
  • Fully answer customer enquiries in a calm, professional manner, calling on support of the management team when appropriate
  • Take pride in one's appearance and personal presentation as a representative of the Museum
  • Operate the EPOS system in a secure and efficient manner
  • Work as part of a team in a positive manner
  • Responsible for health and safety and welfare of staff and customers, ensuring compliance with the museum's policies
  • Work with and support volunteers to ensure their full integration into the museum
  • Conduct regular stocktakes
  • Assist with deliveries
  • Ensure that the shop is kept clean and tidy, and that stock is regularly replenished
Skills and experience

  • Experience of working in a retail environment, or similar
  • Confidence and ability to proactively sell in very busy environments and exceed target
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a passion for delivering great customer service
  • Good visual merchandising skills and excellent recall of product knowledge
  • Flexible approach to a range of retail tasks, e.g. fulfilling online orders and stockroom duties
  • Teamspirited
  • Knowledge of, and interest in design
