We are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our team to work in a primary school in the Barrow In Furness area.

We are looking for people who are consistent and supportive.

You will work in small class groups supporting and assisting the teacher in delivering lessons tailored to the pupils learning level.

This role requires someone who is flexible, communicative and caring.

We will consider people with previous TA experience and also people from other industries who are passionate about helping young people with SEND.

You will be working with pupils with Autism an communications needs.

The role

  • You will be working with a team assisting pupils during lessons and group sessions
  • To work 1:1 and also in small groups with pupils
  • You will be expected to communicate with the teacher regularly with updates about the pupils progress
  • The role could be supporting in other sessions such as Speech and Language sessions
  • Assisting with lunch times and break times when required.
  • Practising and implementing positive behaviour management methods.
  • To create a safe learning environment for the pupils and keeping safeguarding as a priority
  • You will be working with pupils as KS1 and KS2
The ideal Applicant

  • Will be kind and caring
  • A great team player to work with a large team of TAs
  • A great communicator and willing to create strong relationships with pupils and staff
  • Positive energy to bring positivity to the classroom
  • Previous experience as a TA is desirable but not essential
