Job description


To advance WheelPower's mission to increase participation of disabled people in movement, physical activity and sport by tackling inequalities and increasing accessibility.

To raise annually in excess of £200k from Trusts and Foundations

To generate sustainable income from Trusts and Foundations and others

To nurture existing and potential supporters; contributing to the delivery of the WheelPower strategy

Key Tasks
Work with the Head of Fundraising and Communication, our President, Patron's, Vice Presidents and Trustee's to increase the charities fundraising income from Charitable Trusts and Foundations, Corporate Foundations and other Statutory Funders

Build on previous work to develop and undertake a Charitable Trust and Foundations Programme geared to securing core income and funding for the sports programme

Produce accurate, compelling and inspiring communications for funders working closely with the Marketing team on stories that can be utilised to enhance both fundraising and public awareness of grant giving

Developing new bids and cases for support

Ensure that all relationships receive the highest standards of stewardship and prepare all relevant reports required by Trusts and Foundations

Produce regular fundraising activity reports for the Head of Fundraising and Communication

Work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Communication to organise face to face opportunities to showcase our work to donors

To network externally to ensure that Trusts and Foundations are kept aware of the funding requirements of WheelPower

Stewardship
Skilled at relationship building and management to steward new and repeat grants

Ensure timely acknowledgement of all donations and grants and meet donors reporting requirements

Contribute to donors' effective and excellent stewardship, including at events

Nurture good relationships with prospects and donors

Report regularly and be accountable to senior stakeholders

Ensure WheelPower meets the requirement of any donations, including publicity and offering evidence of their impact

General
To work with other Fundraising and Sport team members as required to support the aims of the charity

Maintain personal knowledge by undertaking relevant training courses

Proactively engage with WheelPower's values and organisational objectives

Adhere to and actively contribute to all WheelPower policies

Travel within and outside of usual working hours may be required

Personal Specification
Excellent written / oral communication and attention to detail

A proven track record as a Trusts and Foundations fundraiser and superior account management/ stewardship and reporting skills

Have proven success at securing five-six figure grants

Have experience of being personally responsible for hitting ambitious income targets

Awareness of and insight into the external environment of the charity sector

Be proactive and able to prioritise your workload to deliver multiple projects at the same high standard

A flexible, positive can-do attitude

Confident, cheerful and friendly

Able to work as part of a team

Good interpersonal skills

Sensitivity when dealing with donors and beneficiaries

Respect and commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion
