The service is looking to appoint 1 full-time locum in Complex Coronary Intervention and join our team of 16 substantive consultants.
This is an exciting time for the Trust as it plans for a new hospital build. There will be a commitment to providing outpatient clinics as well as dedicated catheter lab time. We have recently refurbished our catheter labs, equipped with IVUS, FFR, OCT, Coroventis software and orbital atherectomy. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to drive and expand the service.The successful applicant will be based at Watford with outreach clinics at Hemel Hempstead Hospital.
They will work with the cardiology consultant body to provide a highly effective service for patients, local general medical practitioners and hospital colleagues.
The appointee will be expected to work independently in the cardiac catheter lab, support and further develop the busy interventional service.
It is anticipated that the post holder will have at least two catheter lab sessions, two out-patient clinics per week, contribute to the consultant of the week ward rota and provide specialist inreach care to acute medicine/emergency department.

Two specialist clinics will be provided and there will be timetabled cathlab sessions for coronary intervention as well as the opportunity to have sessions at one of our tertiary partners with support to their PPCI oncall.
