Profile Summary


The ER Advisor is responsible for providing expert ER advice to line manager and the HR BP team and leading and supporting on ER cases across both MHI and MHBK.


Responsibilities:

Providing consistent specialist HR advice and guidance to managers and employees in line with Mizuho ER Policies across the full breadth of ER including;

  • Managing and advising on disciplinaries, including;
- carrying out disciplinary investigations as appropriate and recommending to the HRBP if a disciplinary process should be instigated;
- leading and/or supporting on disciplinary hearings and advising on outcomes as appropriate.
- preparing all documentation to support these processes.

  • Advising on and managing grievances including:
  • exploring informal means of resolution where possible, including mediation facilitation
- carrying out grievance investigations as appropriate;
- supporting on grievance hearings and advising on outcomes as appropriate.

  • Leading and advising on appeal cases (disciplinary and grievances, and flexible working appeals) and/or supporting the HRBP with the processes.
  • Managing and overseeing absence management cases and partnering with the respective line manager to support them through the relevant processes.
  • Partnering with the Services Team Lead to manage (where needed) and support DSAR requests, including drafting responses.
  • Acting as the initial point of escalation from the line managers on ER matters.
  • Lead on complex ER cases (including ET claims), escalating to the HRBP where necessary.
  • Any other duties as reasonably assigned by the SD, HRBP
Dual Hat Authority

  • Adhere to the Group's Dual Hat Policies & Procedures, regulatory and compliance obligations and any other applicable policies made available to you, and as updated from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Strong ER Advisory experience, fully conversant with UK (and preferably EMEA/MENA) employment legislation and best practice, with an understanding of HR systems
  • CIPD qualified desirable but not essential
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment
  • Financial Services experience essential
  • Experience in private practice desirable
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Well organised, with ability to work to tight deadlines and excellent attention to detail
  • Team player
