Job purpose:

Responsible for departments within the Warehouse function.

Supporting the Distribution Centre Supervisor with the day-to-day operation of the department's, responsible for a group of operators and ensuring an efficient warehouse operation in achieving business targets.

Coordinate your team, coordinating their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers on targets, monitoring any issues, and ensuring targets, KPIs, and quality standards are met in order to meet the requirements of the operation.

Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards.

Accountabilities:

  • Assist in coordinating an efficient departmental operation which can fulfil operational and customer demand and meet set targets.
  • Deputise for the Distribution Centre Supervisor when required.
  • Ensure communication with National Care depots and Pre advice of deliveries into depots weekly.
  • Ensure shipping lanes are organised at all times, ensuring timely despatch of orders.
  • Ensure SLA's are met weekly and all National Care deliveries are despatched by the 4th Day each week
  • Ensure all National Care spreadsheets are kept up to date at all times and with accurate data.
  • Ensure Orders are delivered in full and with accompanying delivery notes for each order.
  • Ensure 'specials' are despatched together with each order every week.
  • Ensure all Amazon and Export admin functions are carried out promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure floor checks are completed daily for both Amazon & Export lanes.
  • Ensure orders are prioritised and organised according to SLA & Amazon shipping windows.
  • Ensure all Amazon and Export spreadsheets are kept up to date and with accurate data at all times.
  • Assist in overseeing customer service and order related queries.
  • Identifying and resolving any urgent customer service queries.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse teams on customer complaints or requirements.
  • Updating systems with relevant and accurate information
  • Take ownership of customer issues through to resolution.
  • Work in a commercially efficient manner.
  • Working with the warehouse team and other colleagues within the company to improve team and crossdepartmental relations, flexibility, and efficiency in our service offerings.
  • Ensure POD requests are actioned in a timely manner at all times.
  • Ensure stock levels for packaging on site are maintained.
  • Rectify any order issues within the SAP system.
  • Create manual DPD labels when required for issue orders.
  • Assist the Distribution Centre Supervisors in organising and rectifying system and order issues.
  • Updating systems with relevant and accurate information
  • Problemsolving and troubleshooting warehouse and customer issues.
  • Train new Warehouse operatives within area of responsibility
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are always adhered to.
  • Responsible for coordinating department targets and ensuring these are met as set out by line manager.
  • Responsible for coordinating departments to ensure the team are achieving KPI targets set out by line manager.
  • Assist the Distribution Centre Supervisor in reporting KPI's and warehouse reports.
  • Ensure handovers/end of day reports are sent promptly each day.
  • Ensure stock movements are recorded accurately.
  • Ensure that any computerised or automated systems are accurate and up to date
  • Identify any systems improvements and make recommendations for change
  • Where possible resolve any issues or problems which occur in the warehouse. Where appropriate elevate the issue to a more senior level
  • Produce regular reports and statistics as and when required to Line Managers.
  • Review ways to reduce waste.
  • Ensure that health and safety always meet the required standards.
  • Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of products and materials is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures
  • Ensure staff comply to health, safety and environmental regulations and work safely to protect themselves and others in the warehouse environment
  • Ensure a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate time and attendance for operatives within your department and support supervisor with people management issues
  • Communicate with staff on a regular basis to make them aware of priorities, targets and operational requirements
  • Report progress updates, key achievements and any concerns to the Distribution Centre Supervisor.
