Non-Medical Prescriber to join CGL Camden's Substance Misuse Service.


Our Camden team boasts a dynamic and multidisciplinary composition, including service managers, consultant psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants, recovery staff, volunteers, administrators, and peer mentors.

Collectively, we are dedicated to delivering optimal support and medical interventions for individuals accessing our service

Salary:
£47, £52, CGL Scale Dependent on experience plus Inner London Weighting of £4072.06, Pro Rata

This is a Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2025

About the role:

As a Non-Medical Prescriber with us, you will:

  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment/interventions and care for service users.
  • Prescribe and review medication in accordance with evidencebased practice and national and local protocols.
  • Prioritise health problems, intervene in complex situations, and seek immediate advice when necessary.
  • Contribute to health promotion strategies, support vaccination and immunisation programs, and communicate effectively with service users and carers.
  • Maintain accurate records, engage in self and peer review, and actively participate in the annual appraisal system.

About You:

  • Qualification as a pharmacist with current GPhC registration and two years of postqualification experience OR firstlevel registered nurse with a current PIN and three years of postqualification experience.
  • Qualified as a Non-Medical Prescriber.
  • At least one year of relevant and recent experience in substance misuse treatment.
  • Sound knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions.
  • Communicate effectively with service users and carers, anticipating barriers to communication and recognising the need for alternative methods of communication to overcome different levels of understanding, cultural background and preferred ways of communicating
  • Maintain effective communication within the organisational environment and with external stakeholders, acting as an advocate for service users and colleagues where necessary
  • Produce accurate, contemporaneous and complete records of consultation, consistent with legislation, policies and procedures
Ability to assess and recovery plan service users, formulate written reports, and communicate confidently and effectively.
