Learning Support Assistant – KS2

  • The Role:
The Headteacher and SENCO of a respected Primary School in Preston are seeking a confident and lively Teaching Assistant to provide academic support to small groups of students in Y5. This role will be Monday-Friday during school terms from 8:45-15:20 each day. The main focus will be on bridging gaps in learning for English and Maths in Key Stage 2. Although primarily based in the classroom, there may be opportunities to work individually with children in the school library.
  • The School:

Students are eager to learn, and this role will involve working with both lower and higher performing students to help them progress. The Headteacher is dedicated to offering tailored support to ensure every child has the chance to succeed. There is also a similar role available for KS1.
  • The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting children and a strong understanding of Maths and English. They should be able to follow planned interventions by teachers and work effectively with students of varying abilities. Additionally, they should serve as a positive role model for both students and staff, and have a genuine enthusiasm for driving progress in the classroom.
