Head of Accounting

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer for TGWNE and working in the Finance function, the Head of Accounting will primarily be responsible for the statutory accounting, financial management and fiscal compliance of the entities that constitute TGW Northern Europe.
The position will also be the main point of contact with the following external bodies - banks, auditors, insurers and other fiscal advisors.
The individual will work closely with other Finance team members, the Northern Europe Leadership Team, as well as other key stakeholders within TGW NE.
- Responsibility for leading and delivering a successful annual audit in each of the 3 entities within TGW NE.
- Coordinate the production of the local statutory financial statements for TGW Limited, TGW Systems BV and TGW Scandinavia AB, in a timely manner.
- Responsible for maintaining robust, fully reconciled ledgers within the accounting systems, that meet both local Gaap and IFRS standards.
- Responsible for calculating and performing currency transactions required on projects, in line with group approval levels.
- Overseeing the payroll function in the UK, Ireland, Lithuania and Scandinavian region.
- Development and refinement of the financial accounting processes and procedures, to ensure compliance with legislation and efficiency in their delivery.
- Responsible for overseeing all treasury and cash management of the HUB, including accurate and timely liquidity forecasting (to group timeline.)
- Performance of monthly Balance Sheet reviews, ensuring all reconciliations are complete and accurate.
- Ensure Corporation tax and VAT compliance in each jurisdiction TGW NE has a presence.
- Manage and oversee the insurance processes of the business.
- Manage team performance, including annual PDI's, regular onetoone meetings and training and development programmes.
- Manage the TGW NE Travel team.
- Jointly contribute to the leadership of the Finance department with the CFO and Head of Controlling.
- Previous experience of managing a dynamic finance team
- Professional Finance Qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent
- Previous experience in a multinational Projects based, engineering business
- A background in Material Handling/Automation Industry is preferred
- Outstanding communicator across all levels of the business
- Strong analytical skills; decision orientated and fact driven
- High attention to detail and accuracy within work
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Applications
- Experience of Navision, Microsoft Dynamics or SAP
- Organised and efficient, with the ability to prioritise workload in meeting tight deadlines
- Ability to inspire confidence and create trust with employees and stakeholders at all levels
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships across an international group
