Film London is seeking to appoint a Head of Skills to join its Senior Management Team.

A key motivator for the creation of this important new role is the continuing growth of Film London's work on skills and in particular the imminent launch of a regional
Skills Cluster with funding through the National Lottery through the British Film Institute (BFI).


The post-holder will lead on the establishment and management of the Skills Cluster which will cover London and three of the Gateway areas to the west (Hertfordshire, Surrey and Buckinghamshire).

The Cluster will be dedicated to supporting the development of a skills pipeline for the screen industries including film, TV, games and animation.


The Head of Skills will also have overall responsibility for Film London's other skills initiatives which include involvement in a
Creative Skills Academy (one of four under the Mayor's Skills Academies Programme and the only one with pan-London reach) and the
Equal Access Network (EAN) which supports diverse new entrants to the industry as well as industry returners and mid career professionals.

The EAN is currently delivering a number of programmes funded mainly by the Greater London Authority (GLA) and it is also embarking on a growing number of industry partnerships for the delivery of diverse traineeships and recruitment.

An important part of the post-holder's role will be to manage the work of the EAN team and to collaborate with other departments at Film London to extend these partnerships by building new relationships with industry and promoting investment in skills and diversity.
