Cross Border Claims Handler G10

- To handle both PI and PD claims within their financial authority and in accordance with the Internal Regulations.
- To contribute in the exchange of information across the Green Card Bureau's and Council of Bureaux
- To provide an excellent customer experience, while dealing with customers in a helpful, proactive and professional manner
- An escalation point for Claims Technical Assistants (CTA's) and Claims Handlers
- To work in conjunction with company policies and procedures
- Support the Claims Operations Team leader in providing technical feedback to CTA's and Claims Handlers.
- Support the Cross Border Engagement Manager working with the Council of Bureaux and Foreign Bureaux
- Provide coaching and mentioning to the team to improve the technical performance.
- To ensure that all Data Protection requirements are complied with
- To build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and contacts
- To manage the claims process from end to end
- To make timely and effective decisions on ID, liability and Quantum
- To be outcomes focused in delivering the best result for claimants, member insurers, Foreign Bureaux and Insurers
- To use judgment in escalating and referring claims outside of own authority
- To contribute in creating and maintaining a high performing culture
- To set and update accurate reserves
- To deliver results in key performance areas
- Act as a role model
Qualifications and Education
Skills and Knowledge
- Previous experience of handling RTA motor claims with a minimum PI authority of £50,000 or evidence of working towards this
- Ability to plan and prioritise own workload, in line with changing requirements
- Experience of working in a customer focused role
- Experience of building relationships with external partners
- Ability to use own initiative and derive solutions
- Ability to collect and analyse relevant information to support effective decision making
- Attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy
- Computer literate, including experience of using MS Office
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Excellent listening and questioning skills, with the ability to extract detailed and relevant information
- Proven understanding of motor insurance and claims principles in general
- Cert CII qualification or willing to work towards would be an advantage
- Previous experience of coaching or mentoring others
