Waites Recruitment Consultancy are seeking an experienced Construction Director for a client based in London.
You will need 15+ years experience as a Construction Director with experience in the Residential and Commercial sectors. You will need to have experience in the UK only
You must have and only have Director experience in construction only

Role Purpose
To be solely responsible for the operation of the construction business, coordinate programmes across the entire business chain.
Ensuring that projects teams are operating efficiently and in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities and Activities

  • As a construction director: you will be responsible for overseeing the whole construction site - including logistics, looking after the senior manager team, and liaising with client.
  • Overseeing the logistical requirements of a project
  • Delegating work to senior colleagues and their teams
  • Meeting regularly with clients, third parties and managers to report on progress
  • Setting targets, objectives and responsibilities for all supervised staff
  • Regularly review timings, budget, labour, risk and project plans to ensure work stays on track
  • Reporting to clients and board members on project progress
  • Supplying financial records
  • Recommending policy and procedure improvements
  • Monitoring performance against agreed criteria
  • Ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality work within contract time-scales
  • Dealing with contract disputes and mitigating the impact of any issues
  • Working in an office and on a construction site.
Experience and Knowledge

Commercially astute with a first-class reputation for Health & Safety management and the delivery of projects on time and to budget.

Comfortable operating in a client facing team and passionate about delivering the project to programme.

As you will oversee project on and off Site of a project, or a portfolio of projects in excess of £50M, the following skill are imperative to the success of this position:
Taking overall control of the development programme with a view to hitting established business plan targets for residential projects in London;
Leading, oversee and directing construction projects from inception through the full development cycle including planning, design, tender, construction and handover to completion
Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
Oversee all on-site and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors to bring about Optimum utilization of resources labour, materials and equipment
Ensuring material procurement at cost-effective terms
Implementation of various operations through proper coordination
Development of effective communications and mechanisms for resolving conflicts among the various participants
Playing a key role in project planning, budgeting and identification of resources needed to creating the teams, developing the objective/goals of each and assigning individual responsibilities
To project accounting functions - managing the budget, tracking team expense, and minimizing exposure and risk in the project
Ensuring that the actives move according to predetermined schedule
Coordinating the effort of all parties involved in the project-the architects, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors
Monitoring the progress of the actives on regular basis and holding regular status meetings with senior Management and sub-teams
Identifying the elements of project design that may be like to give rise to disputes and claims
Maintaining strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards
Periodically inspecting the construction sites
Reviewing the deliverable prepared by the team, to ensure that the activities move according to predetermined schedule
Analyse, manage and mitigate risk
