As part of the Content Planning team, this role is responsible for the management of the BBC Childrens Acquisitions and Repeats budget, preparing financial forecasts and performing cost centre analysis to aid senior stakeholders in decision making.
You will be required to work closely with Scheduling, Commissioning, Business and Finance to provide programme information required for delivery and transmission, ensure contracts and rights are cleared for transmission/publishing, and to forecast and monitor the delivery of the BBC Childrens Acquisitions and Repeats budget across the financial year.
To support the Senior Planning Manager - Youth Services in delivering ad hoc analysis of business information in order to monitor performance against set targets, as well as on-going strategic analysis to assist and inform senior management business decisions.
- Responsible for setting up and managing the BBC Childrens Acquisitions and Repeats slate in the BBC's business database, What'sOn, and running regular business and analytical reports from the What'sOn reporting tool.
- Responsible for upkeep of the BBC Childrens Acquisitions and Repeats cashflow and payment reconciliation documents, and for planning and forecasting these budgets accurately across the year.
- Responsible for collating and proving month and year end reporting for Finance, ensuring accurate balancing of the budget vs transmissions in What'sOn and providing commentary on any movements in the budget.
- Balancing Acquisition and Repeats transmission spend and hours for month end reporting, sending stock updates on a monthly basis to Scheduling and Finance.
- Raising purchase orders for Acquisitions and goods receipting stage payments upon confirmation of milestones being met, liaising with CRBA, commissioning teams and delivery units
- Set up new Acquisition programmes in What'sOn post contract signature, and updating rights and costs for transmission clearance for any Acquisition relicences.
- Deputising for Senior Planning Manager in queries relating to Acquisitions and Repeats spend requests and offering support and advice in relation to stage payment plans for Acquisitions and repeats/relicensing.
- Experience of managing finance and business information, and the ability to produce and analyse business information on a regular basis.
- Excellent attention to detail and experience of managing and entering large volumes of information into databases. Good working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel and Word.
- An excellent working knowledge of the following BBC databases; What'sOn, SAP, PRS and My Business/Business Objects.
- A good understanding of the BBC regulatory requirements from OFCOM.
- A good understanding of the Commissioning (including rights profiles), Finance and Schedule processes and systems operating at the BBC.
