Role Outline:


Hygiene Partners (part of the Health Partners group) provides specialist occupational hygiene services to prevent ill health caused by the workplace.

Working closely with our clinical colleagues we continue to build our multi-disciplinary team, and therefore as part of this strategy we are looking to recruit a Senior Occupational Hygienist to provide expert advice and guidance in control of workplace health risks, and carry out occupational hygiene surveys and assessments.


Working closely with the Occupational Hygiene Director you will develop and implement systems to embed occupational hygiene into OH delivery and evidence best governance practices to achieve sustainable workplace health for our clients.


In addition, you will be involved in the continuing development of an integrated OH service that provides a multi-disciplinary approach to management of workplace health.


What you'll be doing:

  • Working with occupational health colleagues to embed occupational hygiene related aspects into client health risk profiles.
  • Providing support to occupational health colleagues as required to address preventative aspects of workplace health risk management and advice relating to workplace exposures.
  • Supporting and deputising for the Occupational Hygiene Director on;
- all aspects of technical and commercial development of workplace health risk management services
- liaison with occupational health colleagues
- technical review of occupational hygiene output
- leadership of occupational hygiene team

  • Performing occupational hygiene investigations, assessments and surveys addressing a range of chemical, physical and biological agents (e.g.; dust, respirable crystalline silica, diesel engine exhaust emissions, welding fumes, gases, organic vapours, noise, vibration, thermal conditions, etc).
  • Assisting as required with preparation and delivery of training and information materials on occupational hygiene related topics.
  • Coaching and mentoring other members of the occupational hygiene team to improve their competencies.
  • Managing and coordinating occupational hygiene programmes such as Noise, COSHH, Vibration etc.
  • Leading and participating in audits as required.

Skills:

  • Occupational Hygiene Assessments
  • Excellent communicator with a range of stakeholders
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently and also within a team framework
  • Experience in the construction industry would be an advantage
  • Experience in delivery of BOHS qualifications would be an advantage
  • Experience in development of occupational hygiene programmes and strategy would be an advantage
  • Preferably Chartered Member of Faculty of Occupational Hygiene, or Licentiate of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene working towards Chartered Membership
  • Proven experience of working full time in the occupational hygiene field
  • Good technical and IT skills for using specialist equipment
  • Operational decisionmaking skills
  • Negotiating skills and the capacity to persuade others to achieve results and initiate action
  • Analytical approach and a high level of attention to detail

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Sciences or Chemistry
  • Diploma

Salary:


The salary range on offer for this role is between £50,000 to £70,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.

  • British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) qualifications
  • Affiliate Member of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene (AFOH)
  • Licentiate of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene
