Job Title: Full Time Out-patient Clinic Administrator at Bournemouth West Community Mental Health Team

A position is available for a Band 3 Out-patient Clinic Administrator to join the busy and welcoming team at Bournemouth West Community Mental Health Team. We are seeking a dedicated individual with keen attention to detail to offer comprehensive administrative support to the team.

The ideal candidate should have the ability to handle multiple tasks, adapt to changing workloads while maintaining high-quality standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook and Word is essential.

Prior experience in the NHS is advantageous, although not mandatory. The role will be primarily located at Hahnemann House, with occasional coverage required at Turbary Park.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver professional, efficient, and confidential administrative services with a focus on customer care.
  • Provide information to patients, staff, carers, and Community Mental Health Teams regarding appointments, patient care, service pathways, and meetings. Maintain computer systems, spreadsheets, and databases essential for the role.
  • Handle reception duties and employ effective communication skills, including managing challenging or aggressive patient interactions calmly.

Essential Requirements:

  • RSA Standard II Word Processing certification or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in copy and audio typing
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications and internet usage
  • Previous general office experience
  • Experience in the NHS or Out-patient settings (desirable)
  • Knowledge of RiO databases (desirable)
  • Competency in data entry and database management
  • Empathy towards patients with mental health issues, ability to remain composed in stressful situations, friendly, helpful, and positive demeanor
