Glasgow, Glasgow City, United Kingdom Johnston Carmichael Full time

The Team

The Audit Quality, Risk and Technical (AQRT) team provides technical support to the Audit Business Line to ensure that that quality underpins the delivery of audits, thereby playing a key part in mitigating risk to the credibility and reputation of the Firm.

We operate as a virtual but close-knit team, with most members working remotely from across the UK.

However, you would also have the option of full or hybrid working from any of our offices across Scotland, in Newcastle or in London.

The role

You will provide executive admin support to the AQRT director and in this capacity be a first line of contact with central functions and client-facing partners and staff.

In this role, you will communicate with a broad range of individuals within the Audit Business Line, including our strategic pillar groups, and our financial reporting advisory, IT assurance and learning and development teams.

You will have regular contact with the Business Line's senior leadership team including the Head of Audit, and Ethics and Audit Compliance partner.

On a day to day basis your role will involve:

  • Diary management and gate-keeping, helping the AQRT director with maintaining a balance between reactive day to day responsibilities / longer term strategic projects / team management and support / governance and management roles / wider firm and external stakeholders
  • Inbox screening and triaging, dealing with routine correspondence
  • Interview and meeting scheduling
  • Provide assistance with preparation of papers, documents and presentations,
  • Minute taking
  • Organising training events and conferences
  • Organising travel itineraries and accommodation (via the central travel desk)
  • Assist with the day to day administration of the AQRT team

This is not anticipated to be a full-time role in itself and as such we would expect you to provide similar support to other Leaders in the Audit Business Line as well as supporting with administrative processes such as billing.

About You

  • You will have experience working as a personal / executive assistant, preferably within a professional services environment
  • You will be comfortable building and maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • You will be an exceptionally well organised, reliable and proactive individual, able to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. You will be able to prioritise your workload and that of your director and forward plan to ensure best use of time.
  • You will routinely work with confidential information and a high degree of discretion is paramount.
