Job Purpose


To process, create and manage content and image files for use in the Barbour service, ensuring content currency and correctness.

To identify and acquire new and linked third party document content. To develop a knowledge of information and content providersrelevant to the Barbour offerings. Processing content to an agreed standard and timescale. Interpret legislative changes and tag Barbour content to reflect these changes.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities

  • To process content inputting to the CMS.
  • To identify new/amending/superseding document content for inclusion. Working from predefined publisher content and to a schedule regarding the frequency of content sourcing.
  • Identify superseding/superseded/amending/amended content and ensure the correct tagging of CMS records with this data.
  • To interpret legislative changes (revocations and amendments). Understanding the legislation changes and the impact on content relevant to Barbour.
  • Monitor information/content sources using the most effective processes to enable content to be identified in the most timely/efficient manner.
Develop a knowledge of information sources relevant to the Barbour service topic options.

  • The review of existing document content, ensuring currency and making changes as necessary.
  • The creation of document pdf files from publisher web pages.
  • To ensure watermarks are applied to pdf images assigned to specific IPs.
  • To interpret copyright statuses applied to content and ensure compliance.
  • To process copyright clearance requests for documents belonging to Information Providers with whom we have a restricted licence.
  • To input information/data onto the database and amend existing data, as required. Content to be produced to the agreed format and standard.
  • Content keyword input.
  • To develop a good understanding of Barbour content formatting, a bespoke CMS and associated processes.
  • To work to a predefined service update schedule.
  • Service testing to verify content changes/additions.

Barbour content

  • Technical guides and country fact content format and input content. Manage related content, identify, linking to and tagging as necessary.
  • Requirements
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • High level of accuracy and ability to be thorough when completing tasks.
  • A good level of English.
  • Happy to work to deadlines.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Problem identification and solving skills.
  • Keen to develop a knowledge of the health, safety and environment sectors and an understanding of the related legislative and content requirements.
  • Previous experience of using a CMS would be beneficial.
