We are looking for a Senior Administrator who will work closely with the Chief Executive to enable the Board ofTrustees to effectively govern the organisation in conjunction with the senior leadership team. You will build policy, campaigning and participatory capacity within GCIL, shaping this as a new function in theorganisational structure and building the knowledge and expertise necessary to exert influence on key decisionmakers in the statutory and third sectors.

This role will provide and maintain an analysis of the policy and legislative environment, identify the implicationsfor disabled people and their carers, establishing opportunities and methods for participation andinfluence.

You will support the development of specific campaigns on matters that affect disabled people, and where appropriate,work with others to jointly assert the case for change that benefits disabled people.

As a member of the Senior Management Team you will be responsible for the leadership, planning and delivery of therange of services GCIL offers disabled people. We are a long-established charity and led by disabled people fordisabled people. We believe in the social model of disability, and this is at the heart of our culture, andapproach to service delivery.

Our teams provide information, advice and assistance to disabled people (and their supporters) in a number of localauthority areas in the west of Scotland. These include SDS support services, housing, and employabilityservices.

This post will require PVG scheme membership / Disclosure.

The successful candidate will play a senior and supervisory role in the operation of our Esmond Street Service: a 22place supported living project for older people with learning disability and/or complex needs. The successfulapplicant will have experience of support planning and review systems, and will be in a position to work on ashift-rota basis. She/he will have experience in a supported living setting, the ability to work on their owninitiative, and have a positive, empowering and flexible approach to the support of people with learningdisabilities. The post requires the successful candidate to be involved in the supervision and development ofthe staff team; including training, developing systems, mentoring and auditing. She/he should also possess anappropriate qualification, or be willing and able to achieve this within an agreed timescale.
