Leicester, Leicester, United Kingdom University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust Full time
Are you looking for a new challenge? Then we might have just the job you're looking for

The UHL Bowel Cancer Screening Centre began in February 2014, covering a population of almost 1 million people.

As part of the national programme all men & women aged 56-74 are offered to take part in 2 yearly screening.

This is being expanded over the next 3 years to cover all 50-74 year olds so our team is expanding to manage the additional workload.

You will need to be a good communicator, able to prioritise and manage your own workload, and work as a team to ensure the smooth running of the service.

Training will be provided for use of the Bowel Cancer Screening IT system; however previous NHS admin experience is essential as the role includes use of other hospital based IT systems.

The post is based at Glenfield Hospital and shifts patterns are predominately Monday to Friday office hours, with 1 or 2 evenings per week as well as some weekend working.

Part time or full time hours considered.

Previous applicant need not apply
We are looking for a motivated and flexible team player to join the admin team.

The role is varied and involves patient contact, both face to face and on the telephone; preparing notes for clinics and procedure lists; booking of clinic and inpatient appointments; sitting reception for Bowel Screening clinics and Bowel Screening lists; and liaising with Specialist Nurses, Consultants & Nurse Endoscopists.

We are one of the biggest and busiest NHS trusts in the country, incorporating the General, Glenfield and Royal Infirmary hospitals.

We have our very own Children's Hospital and run one of the country's leading heart centres.

Our team is made up of more than 17,000 staff providing a range of services primarily for the one million residents of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We work with partners at the University of Leicester and De Montfort University providing world-class teaching to nurture and develop the next generation of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, many of whom go on to spend their working lives with us.

Our purpose is to provide 'Caring at its best' and our staff have helped us create a set of values that embody who we are and what we're here to do

They are:

  • We focus on what matters most
  • We treat others how we would like to be treated
  • We are passionate and creative in our work
  • We do what we say we are going to do
  • We are one team and we are best when we work together

Our patients are at the heart of all we do and we believe that 'Caring at its best' is not just about the treatments and services we provide, but about giving our patients the best possible experience.
