About the Role

NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead our innovation programme. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the transformation of our programmes and ensuring their successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support a range of innovation projects across our portfolio, providing advice and proactive support.
  • Lead on developing best practice approaches and rapid sharing of knowledge across the portfolio on ways of resolving critical common issues, providing a focus on innovation culture and learning for all teams engaged in innovation.
  • Promote and provide internal and external information and guidance on how we undertake innovation and how to access innovation support, funding and what is expected throughout the stages and process of innovation.
  • Provide a key contact point for training and education on innovation processes, maintaining and developing training materials, guidance and advice for all managers entering the innovation programme.
  • Liaise with appropriate functions within the CSU to ensure alignment and best practice processes are adopted.
  • Support the management of an innovation programme content management system to ensure information is properly managed and best practice is shared across the team, Directorate and the wider NHS organisation.
  • Take a lead in the coordination of training & development and recruitment activity across the Team.

Requirements

  • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment.
  • Demonstrated experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments.
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting.
  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence at SMT level.
  • Experience of creating and giving presentations to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures.
  • Experience of managing a team without direct line management.

Desirable

  • Experience of monitoring budgets and business planning processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Healthcare environment.
