Job Description About our Portfolio Director (Digital Transformation) role:
This role is responsible for the delivery of the Digital Transformation strategic objective.

This includes being responsible for a portfolio of programmes, projects and squads that deliver the Digital Transformation objective which is focused on optimising and scaling Sage's processes and systems.

The Portfolio Director will take the lead in defining and shaping the strategy and approach to programmes and projects, setting direction, creating plans, resource and capacity planning to deliver against the project requirements.

Working closely with the Definition Lead they will provide leadership to delivery to time, cost and quality.

The Portfolio Director will manage teams of multidisciplinary colleagues in a direct, virtual and matrix environment to ensure project delivery is executed to the highest standards and risks and issues are effectively identified, managed and mitigated.

With a broad range of stakeholders, the Portfolio Director must be able to communicate, challenge and influence at all levels, up to the most senior level within the organisation.

Management of the pipeline and inflight projects and facilitation of submissions to governing committees.
Please note this role is a 12month FTC

  • Accountable for the delivery of a portfolio of programmes and projects, including pipeline and in-flight.
  • Line management responsibilities including mentoring, career, coaching and succession planning
  • Work with the Definition Lead to delivery projects, squads and programmes
  • Work with the project and programme sponsors to facilitate submissions to relevant governance committees.
  • Leadership of project/programme teams, working with the assurance team to maintain quality standards and to achieve and track programme benefits
  • Planning and tracking of projects and programmes, including defining required resource and budget for delivery and communication through regular reporting
  • Management of risks and issues to prevent or reduce impact on project delivery
Ability to influence and engage a variety of senior stakeholders and leaders across the organisation

  • Ability to define and apply strategy to achieve project benefits
  • Leadership of multi-disciplinary teams in a direct, matrix and virtual environment
  • Contractor and 3rd party supplier management within project and programmes
  • Work with senior stakeholders and functional leadership to manage project pipeline and deliver projects and programmes effectively
  • Respected and influential voice within the organisation developing quality relationships with stakeholders
Delivery of projects to time / cost / scope / quality in line with PMO defined methodology

  • Ensure risk, issues and dependencies are effectively managed across projects, programmes and roadmaps
  • Ensure effective Quality Control within project
