Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Support midwives in providing optimal care to all women
- Implement care plans devised by midwives for pregnant women, postnatal women, and newborn babies
- Undertake various delegated patient duties, including record-keeping
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide care and support to women, babies, and families
- Develop positive relationships with families and carers
- Support new mothers in caring for their newborns
- Empower women and families to make health decisions
Clinical Responsibilities
- Undertake phlebotomy practices as requested
- Perform physiological measurements and sample collections
- Conduct newborn procedures and immunizations
Communication
- Communicate clearly with professionals and patients
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation
- Liaise with families and other professionals to meet patient needs
Skills and Knowledge
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Develop strong relationships with various stakeholders
- Work well within a diverse team
- Confidence to challenge established practices
Experience
- Minimum of two years working with women and families
- Experience in multi-agency training and diverse communities
- Participation in parenting programs
