When constructed in 1779, Bodmin Jail was an innovative milestone in prison design with its individual cells and running hot water.

It has now been transformed into a luxury boutique hotel with an immersive visitor centre combined with an authentic heritage museum which gives visitors an experience of life in the former jail.

Combined, our guests can relax in a unique haven of style, luxury and immersive experience, set within breath-taking historic surroundings.


The Bodmin Jail is firmly established within the luxury leisure market, offering a 70-bedroom boutique hotel, a visitor centre and a heritage museum, all in one location.

Located in the heart of Cornwall, our one-of-a-kind property provides the setting for new stories, cherished memories and unlimited possibilities.

We delight our guests with our sophisticated yet cosy Champagne Bar, our signature destination restaurant, The Chapel and our more relaxed Courtyard restaurant for both daytime and night-time dining - inside and al fresco, when the weather permits.

There are plenty of unique spaces to soak up all the heritage and intrigue of this amazing destination.

Food and Beverage Assistant


We are looking for enthusiastic F&B service professionals who would like to work in an up and coming signature restaurant, The Chapel.

The building is historic; and the vaulted ceilings and inspired displays create a fitting ambiance for the food, rivalling the best in Cornwall and beyond.

It offers our guests the chance to experience something truly memorable with our authentic focus on seasonally appropriate ingredients and locally sourced produce delivered with sustainability and ethics as pre-requisite.

We want people who are passionate about food, wine and great service and who thrive in sharing that knowledge with their guests to ensure their experience is bespoke and adds to the overall stay where memories are created, giving special moments to share.
