Are you a dynamic Production Manager with a passion for chemical manufacturing? Yes? Then join our Preston site leadership team You'll oversee our production lines and warehouse operations, ensuring top-notch safety, efficiency, and quality. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you'll lead and inspire a dedicated team of up to 22 employees to achieve excellence every day.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing and warehouse operations comply with UK legislation and H.B. Fuller EHS standards.
  • Production Management: Oversee the production of bonding agents across five areas, managing an annual output of tonnes.
  • Efficiency & Quality: Ensure production processes meet customer expectations for lead times and quality.
  • Project Support: Assist with project management in areas such as PSM, equipment, quality, and logistics.Implement and adhere to EHS standards with support from the EHS manager.Foster and maintain a high-standard safety culture.Ensure adhesive production aligns with safety, quality, and agreed service levels.Plan manpower resources, including managing temporary labor as needed.Lead and develop production staff, promoting growth and excellence.Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure high equipment availability.
  • Monitor and report on plant performance using KPIs.Continuously optimize production standards and processes.Prepare project proposals and capital expenditure requests.
  • Participate in customer audits as required.
  • Serve as acting Plant Manager when necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience: +5 years in a leading manufacturing role within the chemical industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work under pressure, strong technical understanding, and proficiency with standard software (MS Office).
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Hands-on approach; strong leadership skills, and performance management expertise.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience in an international environment.
  • Knowledge of 5S principles, Lean, Six Sigma (Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus).
  • Proven leadership and performance management record.
  • Proficiency with ERP tools and inventory management, specifically PRISM/SAP.
