Summary of Role

We have two roles availalble:

25 hours per week - Monday - Friday 1pm - 6pm with flexibility to cover holidays and absence.

20 hours per week - Monday - Friday 10am - 2pm with flexibility to cover holidays and absence.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who wants variety and development.

The post covers duties within the full Facilities team. The majority of the work will be cleaning all areas of our hospice.

Depending on your skillset there are opportunities to also work do:

  • Domestic duties
  • Reception duties
  • Caretaking duties
  • Catering and general assistant duties
  • Driving licence desirable
The role will be varied and will include duties such as:

  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are practiced in all areas at all times. Undertake all reception duties as required including welcoming visitors, dealing with
their enquiries, directing them to other areas as appropriate.

  • Provide staff with fresh clean linen on a day to day basis. Use trolleys to enable supplies of linen to be available for nursing staff in ward areas.
  • Cleaning of external and internal glazing including inside glass partitions and patient bedroom windows.
  • Changing window curtains and partition curtains as required
  • Using effective infection control procedures, remove dirty linen. Eg. Hand towels and bedding etc. Sort, separate, wash, dry and iron all linen.
  • Complete documentation confirming all standards of cleaning and areas have
been carried out

  • Advise and assist the catering team emptying and re-stocking vending machines.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness throughout the Hospice
  • Support and mentor targeted volunteer staff and facilities assistants who are
undertaking clerical/reception duties.
