In this role, you will lead on improving patient and parent/carer experiences and involvement across child and adolescent mental health services, with a focus in Oxfordshire.


The Trust wants to build on the experience and involvement work we are already doing to make the care we deliver more person centred and tailored to each person's needs and wishes.

The post holder will work alongside patients, services users, carers, external organisations and staff to deliver the objectives of the patient experience and involvement strategy and the carers, friends and family strategy.


We are looking for someone with relevant proven experience and skills and a passion to work in partnership with patients and parents/carers to improve the quality of services, as well as ensure that patient experience is considered at every level of decision making.


  • To support individual services in the development and delivery of Children and Young people, family and carers engagement and feedback. Ensuring that there are appropriate systems are in place to record and report upon accurate activity data relevant to the development and evaluation of the clinical services within the Trus
  • To support the development of peer support roles within Oxfordshire CAMHS, and provide supervision to volunteers, as required.
  • To provide ensure that service user experiences is fed into the strategic work of the Directorate through Quality Committee and Local Operational and Clinical Governance forums.
  • To lead the development and implementation of feedback mechanisms maximising hard to hear groups in giving feedback regarding current services and proposed service changes using communication and involvement technologies.
  • To have oversight and evidence of the participation and coproduction work across Oxfordshire CAMHS and ensure this is embedded into all service and project developments.
  • To act as a central point for Oxfordshire CAMHS and expert for queries and information on all matters relating to service users experience, participation, and coproduction. This requires leading, involvement, coordination and participation in internal and external meetings, conferences and workshops.
  • To ensure Young People and Carers are included in all the work we do and structures are developed to incorporate users at all levels
There are opportunities for further training in leadership, and quality improvement, and regular opportunities for supervision and case management.

Oxfordshire CAMHS is undergoing significant service development (following introduction of the Thrive model), and there are a number of new posts available, including directly linked to Patient Experience, and through the introduction of peer support works.

Whilst embedded in Oxfordshire CAMHS, the post holder will have close links to the Experience & Involvement Team.

Oxford Health offers excellent opportunities for service development, service evaluation, and training. We have good supervision and operational structures and an excellent track record of CPD.

The service is also committed to evidence-based and evidence generating practice and you will have the opportunity to be part of and support service evaluation and Quality Improvement projects.

You will need to be enthusiastic, self-motivated, able to work creatively to find solutions an excellent communicator to engage a wide range of people, and with good organisational skills to support other to implement changes in process and culture.


The post will be supporting Oxfordshire CAMHS, who provide a range of support to children and young people, from early intervention to complex risk management and treatment of mental health disorders.
