Moorfields Eye Hospital are recruiting an experienced Front of House Coordinator to join their excellent Estate and Facilities department team.


Moorfields Eye Hospital is the top supplier of eye care services in the UK and is a renowned centre of excellence for child treatment and education.

The skilled staff at their vast network of specialty clinics, which includes their A&E department, paediatric clinic, retinal therapy unit, cataract, glaucoma, genetics, and oracular oncology departments, among many others, takes great delight in offering patients high-quality care.


Job Summary:


To deliver a high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective service for all front-of-house functions, such as reception, switchboard, operational transport, and interpreting services, while preserving the goal of improving the patient experience.


The switchboard and reception service, which serves as the hub for all emergency communications both inside and outside the trust, must maintain a high level of engagement with the rest of the company.

Main duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the main reception, switchboard, interpreting, and transportation services
  • Work with the admissions department to ensure that the reception has a list of all daily patients who are expected to be admitted to the hospital for a surgical procedure so that they can be guided to the appropriate day care facility when they arrive.
  • Perform reception activities, such as issuing personnel with keys and bleeps stored in this area and monitoring the observance of policies and procedures relating their issuance.
  • Ensure that the trust maintains an accurate record of all outside visitors, and that each visitor receives the appropriate ID card before being picked up by the person they are meeting and collecting this prior to their departure.
  • Use Trust systems such as PAS, OpenEyes and operational transport and telecommunications led technologies and use these internal systems to assist in giving directions and advice to callers, patients and visitors to the trust.
  • Ensure all requests for general transportation are accompanied by a completed transport requisition order form and create a list of anticipated transportation the day before the trip.
