As a Teaching Assistant in KS1, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with children aged 5-7 in a classroom setting.
  • Working full or part-time hours ranging from 8 am to 4 pm.
  • Supporting other staff members in the setting.
  • Assisting in implementing daily routines.
  • Being prepared to assist children needing 1:1 support.
  • Supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN).

Qualifications Required:

Preferred but not Essential:
- 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), including English and Mathematics or equivalent.
- Any Level 3 qualification in the education field.
- Level 2 Award in Support Work.
- Level 2 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning (Induction Training for Teaching Assistants & Support Staff).
- Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant with children.
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
- Experience in Phonics and supporting children with reading and writing.
