The ideal post holder should have knowledge of:

  • Computer systems (including spreadsheets)
  • Stock control procedures and budgetary constraints
  • How to use and understand parts catalogues and online portals
  • Sources of parts/material supply
The ideal post holder should also have the following skills:

  • Sound personal skills including, communication, motivation, and a desire to succeed
  • Planning and prioritising
  • Analysing
  • Decision making
  • Able to safely lift packages and parts

Main duties include, but are not exhaustive to:

  • Overseeing and supervising the daily operations of each store within the business, ensuring smooth running and high efficiency.
  • Dealing with all stores queries as they arise.
  • Authorisation of storekeepers holidays and covering those holidays.
  • Developing, training, motivating and leading staff to become more proficient in their role.
  • Ordering, receiving and stocking all parts and materials, including stock for the Operations team and Head Office staff.
  • Maintaining and managing stock levels for all stores within the business, with assistance from the Engineering Director.
  • 25 days holiday per year plus statutory Bank Holidays
