The role is responsible for working with the Director of Adult Education and all of the Core Group, to ensure that Registered Managers and wider management teams in the home/school are supported to run their homes/schools in a way that supports Adult Education needs.


As the Adult Education Lead at Cascade Care, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the learning and development opportunities for our staff members.

You will design, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive adult education program aimed at enhancing the professional skills and expertise of our care team.

Promoting & Supporting the Cascade Ethos around Adult Education

  • Work closely with the Director of Adult Education to develop and support this department.
  • Support an open and positive culture which enables adults to access and achieve educational outcomes.
  • Make a meaningful contribution to Cascades goal of outstanding quality of education
  • Conduct effective initial assessments, identifying accurate starting points, and designing appropriate Individual educational plans.
  • Develop an effective working relationships within Cascade and with external stakeholders
  • Support with planning activities in the homes that will support the adult education learning and provide a framework for the 24 hour learning provision
  • Liaising with Director of Education to ensure EHCPs reflect this
  • Supporting TA's and Support workers within the homes to ensure that the funding requirements are being met with EHCPs, Education, Community and Social Inclusion
  • Formalising recording of all learning activities in the homes that will provide Outstanding evidence for inspections to support the Education Standard in children's homes and CQC in adult homes
  • Supporting, encouraging and promoting staff within the homes to develop their knowledge and understanding of education and community to ensure these activities are successful
  • Mentor and coach support staff to develop knowledge and understanding of 24 hour learning and support to embed this in daily practice
  • Delivery of the adult education programme within our Cascade homes
  • Prepare, deliver, or participate in any appropriate learning or development programmes or courses as required by the company; this includes any staff meetings
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and key documents to support Adult Education
  • Ensure quality is measured and feedback is obtained to support the continued development of the Adult Education department.
  • Liaise with inspectors (external and internal) during inspections across the Cascade Group around the adult education provision to support gaining Outstanding outcomes
  • Ensure full compliance of all company policies, procedures, and statutory requirements with particular reference to Health & Safety (including Safeguarding), The Prevent strategy, Equality / Diversity.
  • To have flexibility of working hours and have the ability to work with all residents, across the Cascade group; verbal and nonverbal.
  • To ensure that all Cascade Homes records evidence of themed days and weeks.
  • To carry out such additional functions that may be required of you from time to time.

Desirable -
Previous experience of working in a residential adult setting

Previous experience of working with young people/adults with SEND

Level 4 or 5 qualification in Education and Training (CTLLS/DTLLS)

Knowledge of Makaton and signing

Essential -
Level 3 award in Education and Training (PTLLS)

Experience within social care/education sectors

Must hold a full clean UK driving licence - travel between sites is essential
