Radiology Support Secretary

To provide comprehensive administrative support to meet the demands of the Radiology Department. This will include working in accordance with departmental, trust and national standards, policies and procedures.

Administration experience with a keen eye for detail and a team-focused approach is essential.

As well as managing the input of information onto our system, you'll issue reports, maintain records, take minutes at meetings, keep our newsletter content updated and much more.


You should bring a good level of IT literacy, particularly with MS Office packages and databases, plus the ability to manage your own workload and balance competing priorities.

Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to remain calm under pressure is essential.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm

  • Assist the Imaging Team on receipt of test/investigation results retrieve relevant patient notes and alert of any urgent or abnormal test results when required.
  • To act as the departments point of contact when dealing with day to day correspondence. Ensuring all enquiries are effectively managed and successfully resolved within a prompt timescale ensuring all relevant personnel are informed as necessary and an appropriate record is maintained. Liaising and effectively communicating at all levels using written, oral and electronic methods. Using tact and sensitivity to deal with difficult issues as required.
  • Undertaking appropriate staff training and development as required; providing cross-cover on a reciprocal basis in the absence of colleagues and providing day to day supervision where required.
  • Assist with the patient pathway and ensuring that all necessary appointments, including bookings, cancellations, clinics, waiting list etc. are arranged on time, ensure that Imaging modalities are utilised to capacity, diagnostics and tests are processed as requested and that patients receive timely treatment thus meeting the Trust and national standards when required.
