The post holder will train in routine and more specialised lung function tests in the lung function laboratory.

This should include performing oximetry, spirometry, reversibility testing, flow-volume loop, transfer factor, body plethysmography, mouth pressures, sniff pressures, six minute walking test, Mannitol challenge, hypoxic challenge.

The post holder will also learn to set up and download routine and more specialised sleep studies, including screening oximetry, TOSCATM,NOXand ApneaLink The post holder will learn to set up patients on CPAP therapy in accordance with local and national standards.

The post holder will perform accurate and reproducible measurements in accordance with the standards and protocols of lung function, which are in line with national standards
