The Senior Buyer role is based within our Mission Systems business area.

The role

The difference our new Senior Buyer will make
As a Senior Buyer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

We're looking for someone dynamic, ambitious and eager to make an impact to join our team as a Senior Buyer.

As the focal point for the Programme and Project leads you will be responsible for a small team of buyers driving performance and value opportunities across the projects.


Day to day, you'll drive operational performance and excellence across a number of projects, identify value opportunities and levers, understand and deliver against customer commercial agreements, identify and assist in the development of supply chain designs to support operation delivery and engage in supplier relationship management activity.

This role provides hybrid working arrangements with 1 day onsite and 4 days working from home.

Essential experience

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Membership of a relevant professional body, for example the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply at a Level 5 or above.
  • Significant experience within a Supply Chain role, preferably in a Defence or Engineering environment
  • Procurement Management Experience
  • Analytical skills to analyse data and make decisions
  • Be able to read and understand technical drawings and ability to communicate complex requirements to/from supply chain is an advantage.
  • You must have the ability to attain and retain SC clearance
