About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a
Head of Supported Living. This is a senior management position reporting directly to the Director of Care.

You will be a visible leader that is strong and credible - providing direction to the management team.

You will be responsible for the provision of a consistent, high-quality supported living service in line with care regulations and business plan objectives.


You will understand the national agenda for delivering excellent quality services for adults who live with a variety of learning disabilities and autism.


Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee efficient and effective people management. Optimise staff performance, continuous team development, recruitment activity and retention of staff.
  • Ensure excellent individualised care and support plans and risk assessments are in place and that peoples personal outcomes improve as a result. ensure staff are skilled in this area.
  • Lead on the development of Complex Care protocols and expertise for all regulated care services and deliver Active Support (PCAS) across all services.
  • Lead on operational support for adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism in other regulated services to ensure best practice.
  • Keep up to date with research and changes in relevant legislation, guidance, regulation, or operational standards to inform best practice and best use of resources. Identify good practice both internally and externally and promote ways of implementing these.
  • Deliver successful performance against business KPIs.
  • Ensure rostering systems are used effectively to deploy staff to meet commissioned, budgeted, and personcentred requirements.
  • Manage service contracts compliance, retendering, and new business implementation.
  • Work collaboratively with relevant agencies including CQC and Commissioners.
  • Perform formal management oversight of services in accordance with our Quality and Service Improvement Framework.
  • Ensure adherence to Guinness' policies and procedures, with attention to standards of customer service, health and safety, and equality and diversity.
  • Lead the management, development, and design of occupational opportunities service (formerly day services).

Experience and role requirements:

  • Must drive, have access to own car and be flexible to travel for work when required
  • An indepth knowledge of the national agenda and current policy and regulatory issues in the social care sector, particularly the National Learning Disability and Autism agenda and MCA.
  • Ability to assess care and support needs with advanced care and support planning skills.
  • Excellent experience of managing the delivery of a highquality care practice including evidencing outcomes.
  • Knowledge in safeguarding policy, procedure and practice.
  • Excellent IT skills and ability to write reports.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and sustain partnerships and cooperative working with external agencies.
  • RMN, RNLD or Degree/Diploma in Learning Disabilities, Social Care or Social Work or equivalent professional qualification is essential.
  • A Leadership or Management Diploma or degree is desirable.
  • Senior On-Call cover is required as part of senior management rota
