We are recruiting a

Head of Finance to drive commerciality and deliver measurable impact within our Finance function in Pennon Water Services (PWS). Based in Bournemouth will receive an annual salary of up to

£85,000 plus a car allowance and excellent benefits.

About the role:


As Head of Finance, you will have a broad range of responsibility, with the key role being to act as a business partner to the senior leadership team.

You will lead all finance activities for Pennon Water Services (PWS) and you will be accountable for liaising and reporting PWS financial performance to the Pennon Group finance team.

What you'll be doing:

  • You'll be responsible for leading all finance activities across the business. These activities include forecasting, budgeting, reporting, planning, cash, audits, tariffs and funding management.
The following areas are key aspects of the role:

  • Provide oversight and analysis to the monthly management accounts
  • Develop and improve current financial reporting models
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Analyse monthly operating costs
  • Maintain strong financial control
  • Cash flow forecasting and liquidity management
  • Provide commercial and finance insights on tenders and challenge sales teams on growth areas
  • Develop the company's 25 year strategy and a 10 year outlook working closely with the CEO
  • Lead the finance team through any necessary changes as the business grows
  • Support the commercial recoveries team providing insight on reporting outputs to inform decision making
  • Balance working capital needs with the wider needs of the business
  • Lead and manage the business planning process for the business
  • Manage and lead a team, setting development targets, offering guidance and creating a highperforming environment that promotes and lives our corporate values
  • Liaise with Pennon Group finance.

What we are looking for:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Fully CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified with several years' PQE
  • Experience in leading a growing finance function and expanding business
  • An established people leader, with strong people management skills gained within a diverse workforce, including coaching, training and recruiting skills
  • Senior management experience at Commercial Finance / Management level or equivalent
  • Demonstrable commercial finance experience, in a leadership role, adding significant value and driving bottom line performance within a market leading business
  • Sound commercial negotiation and contract development skills / experience
  • Experience of implementing effective cost control and understanding of budgets
  • Experience delivering finance transformation and good cash management
  • Sound financial and analytical skills
  • An excellent communicator with proven success of partnering with and influencing execlevel stakeholders.
  • Ability to present to Executive and Client Level, and deliver impactful insights
  • Ability to both set and deliver challenging and demanding targets
