We are delighted to be partnered with a leading service provider and growing business based in East Hertfordshire who are looking to secure a new Head of Finance for their team.

A thriving and well established business with big plans for the future, this would be a great opportunity for someone to get involved during a period of change and transition and to be instrumental in the development of the finance function.


The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Ensuring the smooth running of the finance function
  • maintaining the accuracy of both financial and management reporting
  • Providing commercial commentary on variances against budget, prior year forecasts and current forecasts
  • Managing a team of both transactional departments and management accounts
  • Driving and identifying process improvements both within and outside of finance
  • VAT preparation and reconciliation monthly
  • Completion of ONS forms as required
  • Preparing year end audit files and leading the year end audit process
  • Preparing financial statements for group companies ready for audit
Ideally you will be someone who has experience with system implementation and some experience within a commercial finance capacity.


You will be qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA), someone who is flexible in their approach, hands on and has experience within an SME environment.

Keen to get your sleeves rolled up and thrive in a busy, environment, you will be a natural troubleshooter and confident with change.


This role would be suited to someone who is looking to drive the development of the finance function as the business moves forward and therefore have a direct impact on business improvement.

You will therefore be focused, ambitious and naturally diligent.

Please note this is predominantly an office-based role with the possibility of some flexibility for home working. Other UK travel will also be required from time to time.
