AMASS provides specialist, intensive outreach services to young people years) and their families where there is high risk of the young person becoming looked after.
AMASS has developed over the last 14 years as a highly regarded and successful multi-agency intervention service with staff from Social Care, Health and Education, located within Islington Social care provider services.
Young people referred to AMASS present with a range of social and mental health needs and can find help challenging to access.
The families AMASS work with often present with complex and interacting problems and a mentalisation-based approach underpins the teams' practice.
We are looking for an innovative and experienced practitioner who will work independently according to agreed plans developed with the team CAMHS Clinician and/or Social Care manager.
The applicant will work jointly with their multi-agency and multi-disciplinary colleagues in a flexible, organised and responsive way within a changing environment.

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.
The post holder will work directly with families and young people using an assertive outreach approach and drawing on evidence-based interventions where appropriate.
The role will also involve record keeping and, with supervision from the AMASS CAMHS clinician, leading on implementing the team's programme of service evaluation.
Islington is a small, densely populated borough with a total resident child population of 40,000. The proportion of children from BME groups is 70%. Approximately 120 different languages are spoken in the homes of Islington children.Islington has one of the highest proportions of children living in poverty nationally; it is ranked the eighth most deprived local authority in England.
Islington Community CAMHS is therefore dedicated to working with partner agencies at a strategic level and in practice to address the resulting mental health needs of the borough.

To support and enhance assessments and intensive interventions delivered in families homes and the community to families working with AMASS, via individual outreach and joint multi-agency work.
To contribute to group supervision, multi-disciplinary reports and meetings as appropriate.
To support the completion of outcome measures and help implement the service's programme of evaluation.
To work independently according to plans agreed within the overall framework of the team's values, policies and procedures, drawing on psychological theory and core engagement techniques.
