Programme Administrator - £ Central London - Hybrid

An exciting administrative position at one of London's leading universities. The role is responsible to the Academic Support and Quality Officer in relation to quality assurance and compliance matters.

Job description:

  • Provide a high standard of student support, answering enquiries in relation to programs, timetable, offer help and guidance and refer issues such as pastoral care when relevant.
  • Act as Secretary to Program Committees, Departmental Meetings, and Boards of Examiners.
  • Provide general administration support for Heads of Department, Program Directors, and the Head of Education.
  • Assist with marketing and recruitment events as required.
  • Provide administrative support for external bodies providing joint courses or programs with EDI.
  • Where appropriate, coordinate the provision of regular and adhoc courses, seminars and other events.
  • Provide administrative support for program operations to Program Directors and Deputy Program Directors.
  • Maintain daytoday contact with students, answering enquiries in relation to the program, timetable, offer help and guidance and refer issues such as pastoral care when relevant.
  • Administer the recording and reporting of students' assessment results, ensuring compliance with relevant EDI and UCL policies.
  • Arrange appraisal meetings for students and prepare appropriate documentation.

General Administration Duties:

  • Act as first point of contact for internal and external queries, including receiving visitors to the Institute.
  • Resolve and respond to requests for information from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the development of information databases to be used to ensure the smooth running of the programs.
  • Attend student, departmental and other promotional events.
  • Support the work of other Program Administrators, including sharing work during periods of peak workload.
  • Maintain an awareness of health and safety and observation of Fire and Health and Safety Regulations, ensuring any issues are reported to the Health and Safety Officer, as appropriate.

Person Specification:

  • Educated to 'A' level or equivalent.
  • Experience of administration in Higher Education or comparable environment.
  • Excellent IT skills, with the ability to effectively use MS Office (including Word, and Excel) and the ability to work with MS Excel formulae.
  • A clear understanding of and commitment to promoting equality of opportunity and an understanding of how that can be implemented within the scope of the role.
  • Understanding your responses to stress, and developing personal resilience strategies
