  • You will be expected to actively participate in annual appraisals and set objectives in conjunction with your manager. Performance will be monitored against set objectives.

Person specification:

Knowledge and Qualifications:

Essential criteria:

  • Registered midwife
  • Educated to Degree Level or working towards Masters
  • Neonatal course of relevant experience

Desirable criteria:

  • Leadership or Management Qualification
  • PMA trained

Experience:

Essential criteria:

  • Midwifery Experience
  • Substantial experience of teaching and mentoring more junior staff

Desirable criteria:

  • Operational Management experience in acute hospital setting
  • Experience of undertaking research
  • SSSA

Communication:

Essential criteria:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Able to meaningfully engage stakeholders
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Able to communicate sensitively and appropriately
  • Able to challenge clinical decisions in the best interest of patients
  • Demonstrating awareness of maternity related clinical governance
