Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Would you like to work in a varied communications role where no two days are ever the same? We're looking for an enthusiastic, motivated communicator to encourage health and care staff to pursue rewarding careers in research.

You will be part of a small, friendly communications team embedded in the NIHR Clinical Research Network North East and North Cumbria (CRN NENC), a large network of staff based across the region.

You will work closely with people in a variety of roles, such as clinicians, research managers, learning and development staff, administrators and other communications professionals from different organisations.

  • Interview Date 12/07/2023

The postholder's primary role will be to support the Routes to Research website, a resource created to encourage health and care staff to get involved in research.

As a member of the website's editorial group, they will ensure that pre-existing content is up-to-date, as well as developing new content.

This will involve liaising with health and care research staff across various local research organisations.

The postholder will make sure the website abides by accessibility standards and is structured in a user-friendly way. They will also monitor website analytics and summarise the results in a digestible format for key stakeholders.

A further aspect of the role is to promote the website to health and care staff. This will involve planning the promotional campaign and producing assets such as newsletter copy, social media images and leaflets.

We are looking for somebody with strong copywriting skills who can write in clear, concise language.

Ideally the postholder will have experience of website content management, be able to manage projects independently, and have strong IT skills with confidence in learning to use new tools and software.
